Sara Abadi Desta is a dedicated Civil Engineer and Project Management graduate with over six years of hands-on experience in the construction industry. Throughout her career, Sara has demonstrated versatility and commitment, taking on roles as a Site Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, and Office Engineer across a range of construction projects. Her exposure to diverse responsibilities has equipped her with a robust understanding of project execution, cost management, and technical coordination.
In 2023, Sara’s professional journey took a pivotal turn when she encountered the field of Valuation. Inspired by the discipline’s impact on property and asset assessment, she decided to pursue valuation with genuine interest and unwavering dedication. This decision led her to join Ghebbi Associates and Valuers, where she spent two and a half years honing her expertise. Her diligence and commitment were soon recognized, culminating in her promotion to the role of Valuation Surveyor.
Sara’s aspiration to excel in valuation was further fueled in early 2025, when she was honored as a recipient of the Habte-Giorgis Indrias scholarship. This prestigious award provided her with the opportunity to deepen her knowledge and skills. She successfully completed the "Five Methods of Valuation in Property and Asset Assessment" course at the University of Built Environment, graduating with distinction. This achievement not only enhanced her technical proficiency but also reinforced her passion for contributing to the property sector.
Driven by a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth, Sara is focused on advancing her career in valuation. She is actively working towards professional accreditation, aiming to set new standards of excellence in the field. Kalkidan
Girma
Kalkidan Girma is a highly skilled civil engineer with a specialized focus on property valuation. Currently serving as Engineer II and Valuator at Tsehay Insurance S.C., Kalkidan plays a pivotal role in assessing properties for insurance purposes. Her responsibilities include estimating building values and conducting thorough post-risk assessments to evaluate damages and determine appropriate compensation amounts. This work requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of both engineering principles and valuation methodologies.

Prior to her current position, Kalkidan built a strong foundation in property valuation at Enderas National PLC. There, she conducted comprehensive assessments for a wide range of building types, preparing detailed appraisal reports for court cases, tax purposes, IFRS reporting, and insurance claims. Her collaboration with legal teams to provide expert testimony has further enhanced her ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly and effectively. Through these experiences, Kalkidan has developed a nuanced understanding of market trends and the diverse approaches required for accurate property valuation.

Kalkidan’s earlier roles have contributed significantly to her expertise. As an Office Engineer at Afro Tsion Construction PLC and a Junior Contract Engineer at Prominent Engineering Solution PLC, she honed her skills in project management and quality control. Her responsibilities included preparing Bills of Quantities, monitoring construction quality, and assisting in the preparation of tender documents. These experiences have given her a comprehensive perspective on the construction industry and its intersection with property valuation.

Academic excellence is a cornerstone of Kalkidan’s career. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University and a Master of Arts in Project Management from Admas University. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban Land and Property Valuation at Addis Ababa University, where she is preparing her dissertation. This ongoing academic journey reflects her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
